Washington, D.C. - Kieraah Marlow (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) led the Georgetown University women's basketball team in points and rebounds for the eighth time this season with 11 points and eight points but the Hoyas dropped 63-47 BIG EAST decision to Cincinnati tonight at McDonough Arena. Senior Bethany LeSueur (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) and freshman Katrina Wheeler (Washington, D.C./T. Roosevelt) each finished with 10 points. The Hoyas fall to 10-15, 3-11 in the BIG EAST.

Sophomore Kristin Heidloff (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick), who came into the game ranked 13th in the nation with a +2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio, finished the game with seven assists vs. two turnovers to go along with six points and four rebounds.

Cincinnati pulled in 42 rebounds for the game, 20 on the offensive end and turned those offensive boards into 25 second chance points.

Junior Karen Twehues led the Bearcats with 19 points.

Anne Stephens scored 12 points and Emy Ogide added a career-high nine as the Bearcats (17-8, 7-7) clinched a spot in the 2006 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament.

The Hoyas jumped out to an 11-7 lead just over four minutes into the game as GU made five of their first eight shots but Georgetown would drop five of their final 20 shots over the remainder of the first half as the Bearcats took a 32-26 into halftime.

The Bearcats grabbed 13 offensive rebounds in the first half, allowing UC to outscore Georgetown, 15-3, in second-chance points. Cincinnati also got 17 points from its bench in the opening stanza.

UC extended its lead to 13 at 42-29 on a Jill Stephens layup at the 15:20 mark in the second half. GU cut the lead to nine, 46-37, on a layup by Wheeler, but a 15-2 UC run over the next eight minutes put the game out of reach.

Georgetown plays its final road game of the season at Villanova on Saturday, February 25. The BIG EAST game tips off at 2 p.m.
