Eugene, Ore.- The No. 11 ranked Georgetown University women's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 16-6 victory at Oregon on Sunday afternoon at Pape' Field.
Junior BIG EAST Pre-season Attacker of the Year Coco Stanwick (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) led the offense with a game-high four goals to go along with seven draw controls.
Senior midfielder Lucy Poole (Lutherville, Md./Towson) and sophomore attacker Zan Morley (Piladelphia, Pa./Springside School) each found the back of the net three times. It was Morley's first career hat trick. Junior Schuyler Sutton (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) tallied two markers.
Red-shirt junior Brittany Baschuk (Chevy Chase, Md./Stone Ridge) and Jordan Trautman (Mystic, Conn./Loomis Chaffee) also scored goals for the Hoyas who jumped out to a 9-1 halftime edge.
Freshmen Bunny O'Reilly (Blue Bell, Pa./Springside) and Courtney Hubschman (Short Hills, N.J./Oak Knoll) both notched their first career goals.
Junior goalie Maggie Koch (Philadelphia, Pa./Springside) made 10 saves while junior Laura Cipro (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) paced the defense with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Georgetown will be back in action again on Saturday, March 11 when GU travels to No. 13 Syracuse in the BIG EAST opener for both schools. The game inside the Carrier Dome begins at 1 p.m.
