Maggie Koch and Coco Stanwick Sweep BIG EAST Weekly Awards

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University women's lacrosse standout Coco Stanwick (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) and Maggie Koch (Philadelphia, Pa./Springside School) have earned BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively for the week of April 17-24 as announced by the league office.

Stanwick was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after leading No. 3 Georgetown with six goals, two assists and eight points last week as the Hoyas went 2-0. She posted two goals in the win over No. 4 Virginia before scoring a game-high four goals in the victory at Connecticut. The Tewaaraton Trophy nominee had four draw controls against UVa and 11 of the team's 17 draws against conference foe Connecticut.

The junior attacker leads the nation with 7.15 draw controls per game and ranks ninth nationally with 3.46 goals per games. She has shattered the school and the NCAA single-season record with 93 draw controls.

Koch wins her third BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week award of the season after averaging just over 11 saves per game in Georgetown's 2-0 week. The junior posted a career-high 12 saves in the 8-4 win over No. 4 Virginia before tallying 11 saves in a BIG EAST victory at Connecticut. Virginia came into the game ranked 14th in the nation in scoring offense yet Koch was the backbone of the Hoya defense that allowed only two goals in each half. She then recorded her sixth double-figure save out-put of the season with 11 saves against the Huskies.

Koch ranks first in the nation with a 6.76 goals against average and ranks second with a save percentage of .559. The junior has paved the way for the Hoyas who are tied with Cornell for the best scoring defense in the country (6.92)

The Hoyas (11-3, 4-0 BE) return to the field on Wednesday, April 26 when they travel to James Madison University (11-4, 6-1 CAA) for a 4 p.m. non-league game.
