Despite the stormy weather, this week was very soccer orientated. Just about the whole team was glued to the tv on the 22nd hoping for the US to come away with three points in their World Cup group, but they fell short. On a happier note, as of today Kirsten Odermann is on the road to recovery. She had surgery early this morning. Now we just have to make our season extra long so Kirst can join us in post season play, and our most successful season.
The majority of the team is preparing hard for Regionals. We will have several Hoya versus Hoya matches this 4th of July weekend. We have ten girls playing on eight different teams for a Region I Championship and a chance to compete at Nationals. We also have a few other girls competing in the other Regional championships across the country.
Here in DC, we are finishing up our classes, just two weeks to go. Lindsey Appezzato will have plenty of teammates to train with when she returns to New Jersey. Shante Cofield is inviting Lindsey for farm work, morning fitness sessions and evening lifts. She can join Christina Rourke for sand soccer and beach runs. Elaina Filauro, Cristina Araps and Carlee Briglia are always up for a little pickup and a go at the beep test.
WE ALL HOPE YOU'RE FEELING BETTER KIRSTEN! You'll be back in no time!
Go Hoyas!
