Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University head softball coach Pat Conlan announced that Erin Goettlicher has been added to the coaching staff.
Goettlicher comes to the Hilltop with five years of coaching experience. Most recently, she was an assistant softball coach with the New England Riptide, a professional team in Lowell, Mass., where she assisted the head coach in managing the on-field development, strategy, and execution of the softball team on a professional level since May 2006.
Before her time with the New England Riptide, Goettlicher was an assistant softball coach at the University of Toledo in Ohio. Initially hired as a graduate assistant in August 2001, she was promoted to a full-time assistant in December 2001 and held that position through June 2006. At Toledo, she assisted the head coach in all areas of operating the softball program including coaching/teaching, recruiting, team travel, performance enhancement and fundraising. During the 2006 season, she served as the primary hitting instructor and worked closely with bunting and left-handed batters to improve the overall team hitting to second in the conference. In her position, she also supervised the graduate assistant, student assistant and team manager.
Goettlicher has also worked summer softball camps at the Unviersity of Toledo and Minnesota State University-Mankato, her alma mater. She has served as an assistant player development coach for the Mankato Area Girls Fastpitch Association and a co-head coach of the Mankato Peppers, a U-12 traveling team.
A 2001 graduate of Minnesota State University-Mankato, she was a four-year letterwinner for the Mavericks as she earned her degree in human performance/physical education. She was named to the 2000 and 2001 First Team All-North Central Conference and the 1999 and 2000 NCAA Division II North Central All-Region team.
