Box Score

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University baseball team lost their third straight game in Florida on Sunday morning, 13-1 to Northeastern. The Hoyas (2-7) could only manage four hits and have scored only one run in their last two games.

Northeastern (2-1) jumped on Georgetown early with four runs in the first inning on a RBI single by Mike Tasmin and a bases-clearing three-run triple by Anthony DiCesare.

In the fourth inning with the score 5-1 in favor of Northeastern, the Huskies scored six runs thanks to a solo home run by Mike Lyon, one of his two on the day, consecutive two-run doubles by Dan Milano and James Donaldson and a RBI single by Josh Porter.

Down 5-0 in the fourth, senior catcher Brandon Davis (Poway, Calif./The Bishop's School) reached on a dropped fly ball by Northeastern second baseman Dave Fisher. Then with two outs, senior leftfielder Derek deGrijs (Nashville, Tenn./Goodpasture) laced a double to the right-center gap and get the Hoyas on the board.

Starting pitcher Alex Meyer (Pompton Plains, N.J./Don Bosco Prep) struck out six batters in three innings of work.

Northeastern would add two more runs in the eighth, to make the final score 13-1.

The Hoyas remain in Florida for the rest of the week and will play IPFW tomorrow, March 5, at 7 p.m.
