Georgetown Coach John Thompson On Notre Dame... "They have guys that can put the ball in the basket and many different people. And while that is going on, Harangody poses problems. He's been playing at a high level right now. We just wanted to at all costs, protect the three-point line. All things being equal, I guess we did okay. The first half they got off 17 threes, I didn't want that to happen. If they get them off they are going to make them, they have terrific shooters. We wanted to see if we could limit the number of attempts they had."

On Roy Hibbert... "I think Roy (Hibbert) was aggressive and assertive. He does a pretty good job of understanding when it's his turn and when he should help his teammates. Much like we were doing, they were spread out on our shooters, they were opening our options and he took advantage of it."

On Georgetown's intensity... "The first thing I told them is, `We set the tone early.' The first possession, Jon (Wallace) dives out of bounds, DaJuan (Summers) dives out of bounds and then DaJaun got another offensive rebound and that intensity, and that energy level set the tone for the game right there."

On DaJuan... "DaJuan is a cerebral player and he's a thinker. The last couple of games, he's been trying to think through too many situations and today he just came out played hard. It's amazing how good things happen, how the chips fall in place, when you play hard. He was extremely aggressive, his energy level was high, he worked. He brought his lunch pail toda and he worked. It was great to see that."

On better three-point shooting in second half... "It's probably a little bit of both (selectivity and the offense clicking). The early stretch of the second half was bad, it was just too ragged, but we called a timeout and got them settled. I think we did a very good job of running our offense and then all of a sudden, the kids see, and they're starting to see, and we're all getting better at it. Then all of a sudden, it's going to be wide open. In the second half, we stuck with it and the shots were easier because of our attentiveness to sticking with our offense."

On trouble with inbounds plays... "We'll figure it out. We expected it. We just were not good with it today.

Notre Dame Coach Mike Brey

Overview of the game

"They are very good and they were in a rhythm today. We took the lead at 18-17 and then we lost control of the game but we had great looks. Zeller was the only guy making shots for us. Ayers had some great looks, McAlarney had some great looks."

"It's really simple. We have to score the ball more, especially in the first half to get confidence. We couldn't score, we couldn't get into a rhythm and then they got every loose ball to end the half and it was really hard to recover from that."

On Georgetown

"They are very good, very physical around the basket. I think for us, we have to look at the big picture...we have 13 game left here."

"I take my hat off to Georgetown. As tough as it was for them Monday night, they certainly were in a rhythm tonight."

On hustle plays

"I think the biggest concern was loose balls. I think the opening tip we could have got. Ryan (Ayers) kind of stopped on it and Sapp saved it, so to start the game they were quicker. They got out of the gates quicker and had us down until we adjusted."
