Georgetown Men's Golf Competes in Xavier Invitational

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University men's golf team competed at the Xavier Invitational October 13-14, in Loveland, Ohio. The Xavier Invitational served as the third tournament for the Hoyas this season.

The 54-hole tournament took place at the Oasis Golf club in Loveland, Ohio. The course is 6,921 yards and par 72.

After the first day of play, Eastern Kentucky was in first place, shooting 560. Marquette's Mike Van Sickle, took first place individually shooting 12-under-par 132. Eastern Kentucky's Jesse Massie and Toledo's Nathan Wine were tied for second shooting 10-under-par 134.

Georgetown tied for 16 out of 20 teams after the first day of play, shooting 592. Georgetown seniors Garrett Logan and Timothy Hager led the Hoyas. Garrett Logan (Henderson, Nev./Bishop Gorman) was tied for 43rd place after shooting two-over par 146 and senior Timothy Hager (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North) was tied for 50 place shooting three-over par 147.

Georgetown fell two spots on the last day of competition, tying for 18 out of 20, shooting 893. Hager shot 4-over par 220 in the final round, and tied for 38 place. Logan tied for 52 place, shooting 6-over-par 222 and junior Vincenzo Salina (Vandoeuvres, Switzerland/Institut Florimont) tied for 57, shooting 7-over-par 223. Eastern Kentucky won the Xavier Invitational shooting 846 overall. Individually, Mike Van Sickle of Marquette finished strong, in first place shooting 17-under-par 199.
