Georgetown Field Hockey Falls to Saint Louis, 4-0

ATHENS, OHIO - The Georgetown field hockey team (0-2) could not overcome a strong second half from the Saint Louis, as the Billikens outshot the Hoyas 13-3, scoring three goals to defeat the Hoyas 4-0 at Ohio University on Sunday.

GU managed just five shots on goal, two by senior Maggie Farrand (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) and senior goalkeeper Dee Crovo (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) had six saves in the loss.

Georgetown played the BIllikens close through the first half, but Saint Louis took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute, as Lauren Noe knocked in a pass from Christine Frampus, though the Hoyas hung close, trailing by that one score at the half.

Natalie Gamez opened the second half with two goals to put GU away. In the 45th minute Stephanie Ertzberger scored Saint Louis' fourth goal on Frampus' third assist to cement the Billikens 4-0 win.

GU returns to actionon Sept. 5 when they travel to Davidson to take on the Wildcats at 7 p.m.
