Georgetown Men's Lacrosse Announces 2009 Schedule

Washington, D.C. - Featuring seven home games, including out of conference matchups between Syracuse, Harvard, and Navy, the Georgetown University 2009 Men's Lacrosse schedule was released today by Head Coach Dave Urick. Other home opponents include ECAC Conference games against Fairfield, Loyola, Rutgers, and Penn State.

Georgetown will open its season on the road on February 21 with a game at local rival Maryland. The road trip continues as they kick off ECAC play the following weekend, February 28, at St. John's.

After facing Syracuse at home on March 7, the Hoyas head out on their longest road trip of the season. They will play three games on the road, concluding with a match up at Duke on March 21.

ECAC defending champion Loyola comes to Georgetown on April 11 for a match up between the 2008 league leaders. Georgetown will end the season at home with games against Rutgers and Penn State.

The team will begin the season with three exhibition games, playing at Navy (October 11) in the fall, and at Virginia (February 7) and home against Albany (February 14) in the spring.

The Hoyas finished the 2008 season with a 9-4 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the ECAC. Georgetown was ranked among the top-five teams in the country for eight weeks this season, finished the year ranked No. 16 in the country and was one of only two teams to beat national semifinalist Duke.
