Georgetown Women's Rowing Turns in a Strong Performance on the Potomac River

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's open weight rowing team competed on the Potomac River on Saturday morning in the UNC/Duke Double dual under a light drizzle and a seven mile per hour headwind. It was the rowing team's first race on the Potomac River of the spring season.

In the morning session the women's varsity eight, including Amy Parks, Jade-Isis Lefebvre, Bridget Roddy, Jordan Albright, Amy Tenet, Melissa Horne, Bridget Stinson, Meg Ginivan and Rebecca Kisner finished in 7:20.1, the third fastest of the varsity eight crews rowing during the morning session.

In the later women's varsity eight race, the Georgetown boat consisting of my Parks, Jade-Isis Lefebvre, Bridget Roddy, Jordan Albright, Amy Tenet, Sydney LeGuyader, Bridget Stinson, Meg Ginivan, Rebecca Kisner finished in a time of 7:13.6.

The Hoyas novice eights put up the second fastest time of the four novice eight boats, finishing in 7:07.9. At 9:30 a.m. the Georgetown freshmen lightweights defeated UNC's second novice eights, finishing in a time of 7:26.2.

The openweights get back on the water in the San Diego Crew Classic on April 4 and 5, as well as the Occoquan Sprints on the Occoquan Reservoir on April 5.
