Final Stats

EASTON, PA - The Georgetown University field hockey team (0-6) fell to Lafayette College (3-1), 2-0 on Sunday afternoon, as the Leopards' Kelly Hilovsky scored two goals to sink the Hoyas at Rappolt Field in Easton, Pa. After not attempting a shot in the first half, the Hoyas offense managed six in the second half and five penalty corners, but were unable to find the back of the cage.

The Leopards took control of the match from the start and were able to capitalize 12-minutes in, when Hilovsky converted on a penalty corner, assisted by Amanda Saber to give Lafayette a 1-0 edge. Georgetown would hold Lafayette scoreless the rest of the first half, but the Leopards still controlled play holding GU shotless, while taking five of their own and limiting the Hoyas to one penalty corner.

Hilovsky got onto the board for the second time of the match three minutes into the second half on a pass from Bridget Hilbig, to take a 2-0 lead. The Hoyas offense found rhythm in the second half matching Lafayette with six second shots and drawing five penalty corners, but were unable to convert, falling 2-0.

Clodagh Coghlan made two saves for the Hoyas, both in the second half.

The Hoyas return home to face Robert Morris on Sunday, September 20 at 1 p.m. at the William I Jacobs Recreational Complex at American University.
