WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's Caitlin Formby (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the second time this season. The senior goalkeeper led No. 12 Georgetown to a 1-0 week as the Hoyas downed the Yale University Bulldogs 15-4 on Friday evening. The Hoyas are now 9-5 overall and 6-0 in BIG EAST play.
Formby played one of her best games of the season on Friday notching 14 saves. She led a defense that held Yale to just four goals, marking a season low for the Hoyas. Formby currently has 107 saves on the season and has started all 14 games. This is her second honor roll award this season.
Georgetown has earned a berth in the BIG EAST Tournament after going undefeated in conference play so far this year. The Blue & Gray will host No. 13 Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday and travel to No. 9 Syracuse on Saturday to close out the regular season. GU has an RPI of 10 after playing some of the top teams in the country earlier in the year.
The opening draw against Loyola (Md.) is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Multi-Sport Field. Prior to the start of the game, the will be a short ceremony honoring Georgetown's senior class. Live stats and a webcast will also be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
