Georgetown Softball Falls to DePaul, 14-0

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Georgetown University softball (17-30, 6-16 BIG EAST) allowed six runs in the first inning and was never able to put pressure on DePaul's pitching staff, as the Blue Demons defeated the Hoyas 14-0 in five innings in the second game of a BIG EAST doubleheader.

Jennifer Connell (Roswell, Ga./Roswell) took the loss, allowing seven runs, just one earned on seven hits. Cara Savarese (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) had the Hoyas lone hit in the loss.

DePaul scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning capped by a three-run home run by Tara Voss. The Blue Demons would score a run in the second inning and add another seven runs in the third inning.

With a 14 run lead the game was called after the fifth inning, as Bree Brown earned the victory.

Georgetown will conclude its three game series with the Blue Demons on Sunday at 11 a.m.
