WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Baseball Coach Pete Wilk announced today the addition of eight student-athletes who will join the program for the 2010-11 academic year. The class includes two players from North Carolina and one each from Delaware, Florida, Massachusetts, New York and Texas. The roster makeup includes five pitchers - three right-handed pitchers and two left-handed pitchers - as well as two outfielders and a first baseman.
"We're really pleased with this class and we're excited to add these young men to the talented roster we have already," Wilk said. "Our coaching staff put together an impressive group of players who have tremendous athletic abilities and come from really strong programs. Coach (Curtis) Brown was particularly involved with this process and he has helped to assemble a group of young men who will be great additions to our program."
Justin Abbott, (LHP, 6-2, 180, Raleigh, N.C./Millbrook)
"Projectable left-hander with mid to upper 80's fastball and solid breaking ball. Further development of change up and consistently repeating delivery should increase his impact level." - Pete Wilk

Steve Anderson (1B, 6-4, 225, Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland)
