WASHINGTON - WASHINGTON - Senior defender Annika Bannon (Hopkinton, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) and sophomore forward Charlotte Tierney (Rye, N.Y./Holy Child) earned spots on this week's BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after leading the Hoyas to a victory over Lehigh on Saturday. The honors were announced Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Bannon anchored a back line that allowed three shots in the first half and 11 for the game. This was Bannon's 58th- consecutive start for the Hoyas.
Tierney scored two goals to lead the Hoyas in scoring this weekend with four total points. This is Tierney's second multi-goal game of the season as she first accomplished this feat in a victory over St. Francis (Pa.) earlier this season.
Syracuse's junior forward Heather Susek was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Orange sophomore goalkeeper Leann Stiver was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week.
Georgetown will hit the road as the Hoyas take on their first BIG EAST opponent in Louisville on Friday, Sept. 17 at 3 p.m. at Trager Stadium in Louisville, Ky. While in Kentucky, the Hoyas will also take on Radford on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.
