WASHINGTON -

The Georgetown University field hockey team (4-3) fell to Radford (6-1) , 3-1, at Trager Stadium in Louisville, Ky. on the campus of the University of Louisville.

Sophomore forward Charlotte Tierney (Rye, N.Y./Holy Child) scored the Hoyas lone goal in the loss. It was Tierney's team-leading sixth goal of the season. She also has a team-high .667 shooting percentage. Sophomore goalkeeper Briana Pereira (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) had nine saves.

Radford opened the game with a score at the 17:04 mark when Lara Cariker scored off the penalty corner pass from the top of the circle assisted by Marlee Schramm.

Jennifer Balka would add the first of two goals on the afternoon when she hit from the middle of the cage with the pass coming from Madonna Wadolowski on the right at the 23:25 mark. Balka scored again less than a minute later as she hit the back of the cage off of a rebound. This would give Radford the 3-0 advantage going into the half.

Tierney put the Hoyas on the scoreboard for the first and only time just over four minutes into the second half. Tierney dribbled from 40 yards out and scored from inside the top of the circle on the unassisted goal. It was too little too late, as the Hoyas would lose by a final of 3-1.

Georgetown returns home as it will host Robert Morris on Tuesday at noon at the William I. Jacobs Recreational Complex on the campus of American University.
