Junior forward Annie Wilson (Darien, Conn./Darien) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon for her stellar performance at Lehigh University on September 2. Wilson's two goals pushed the Hoyas (1-2) past the Mountain Hawks (0-2) to win in overtime 3-2.
Wilson's scoring helped earn the Georgetown field hockey team its first win of the season. She is currently tied as the leader in goal scoring with Catherine Shugrue (Devon, Pa./Episcopal Academy). Wilson has four points on the season so far for the Hoyas.
This is the second time Wilson has been honored by the BIG EAST in her career. She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following two goals and two assists against LaSalle University in a 6-4 victory during the 2010 season.
The Georgetown University field hockey team travels to Bryant University for its next game on Friday, September 7 at 1 p.m.
