WASHINGTON - Junior attackmen Travis Comeau (Red Deer, Alberta/The Hill Academy) and senior midfielder Zack Angel (Park Hall, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) have been named to the BIG EAST Preseason Men's Lacrosse First Team, and the Hoyas were selected fourth in the seven-team conference when the league announced its preseason coaches' poll on Thursday afternoon.

Comeau, a second-team All BIG EAST selection in 2011, was second in the conference in goals with 30 and third in the nation with a .492 shooting percentage, while starting all 14 games for Georgetown. He also totaled five assists and picked up 34 ground balls during his sophomore season. Comeau was also selected preseason All BIG EAST first team prior to the 2011 season.

Angel led all Hoya midfielders with 15 goals, while starting 12 or 13 games for Georgetown during the 2011 season. Angel has been a starter in each of his three seasons on the Hilltop.

Georgetown, who finished 7-7 overall and 4-2 in the BIG EAST, were selected to finish fourth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Hoyas return four starters and 34 letterwinners including recent Major League Lacrosse draft choice and senior captain, midfielder Gerry Reilly (Cincinnati, Ohio/Saint Xavier). Georgetown also welcomes 12 newcomers for the 2012 season.

The Hoyas begin its 2012 season on Friday, February 24 at 7 p.m. when they host local rival Maryland on Multi-Sport Field. The Hoyas play its first four games at home at Multi-Sport Field on the campus of Georgetown University. BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll
