WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad has announced its 2012 television schedule which will include four appearances locally on Verizon FiOS and three on CBS Sports Network. Georgetown finished last season with a record of 9-8 after winning the BIG EAST Regular Season Championship for the fourth-consecutive year.
The Hoyas will open its television schedule against the University of Florida on March 7 at Multi-Sport Field. It will be the first of four home games televised on Verizon FiOS. Perennial-power the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill will also be televised on FiOS as well as GU's BIG EAST home opener against Loyola University (Md.) on March 24. The University of Connecticut on March 30 will round out the local television schedule for 2012.
Georgetown will conclude the season with three games televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. A clash with Syracuse University at the Carrier Dome on April 14 at 1 p.m., will set the tone. GU's final two home games of the season will also be televised live on CBS SN including the University of Notre Dame on April 21 and Rutgers University on April 28.
For the third year in a row, CBS Sports Network will televise both BIG EAST semifinal games on May 3 as well as broadcasting the championship game on May 5 for the sixth-consecutive year. This season's BIG EAST Tournament will be hosted by Syracuse and will be held at the Carrier Dome for the second time in program history.
