WASHINGTON – The No. 25 Georgetown University women's lacrosse team (10-4, 4-0 BIG EAST) looks to remain perfect in conference play as it travels to Villanova, for a matchup against the Villanova University Wildcats (8-5, 2-2 BIG EAST) on Saturday, April 18. Opening draw at Villanova Stadium is scheduled for 11 a.m.

The Hoyas are coming off a dominant 18-6 BIG EAST victory over Butler last Saturday. Georgetown's offense exploded for 13 goals across the middle periods, led by four-goal performances from both
Molly Davies and
Reagan Ziegler.
Anne McGovern contributed a five-point afternoon (2G, 3A), while
Gracie Driggs controlled the center circle with 13 draw controls. Graduate goalkeeper
Leah Warehime anchored the defensive effort in the cage, earning the win while allowing just six goals before the Hoya bench closed out the final 15 minutes of scoreless defense.

Georgetown (10-4, 4-0 BIG EAST) enters Saturday's matchup tied for the top spot in the conference standings. The Blue & Gray has been anchored by an elite defensive unit that leads the BIG EAST in save percentage (.486) and scoring defense (7.64), a mark that also ranks seventh in the nation.

Villanova enters the weekend with an 8-5 overall record and a 2-2 mark in BIG EAST play. The Wildcats' offense is led by Mary Moore, who has recorded a team-high 42 points (24G, 18A), alongside primary scoring threats Rose Christie (35 pts) and Elena Torres (30 pts). Defensively, the Wildcats rely on Katie Clark's 23 caused turnovers and the dominant draw control play of Emma Verhoest, who has secured 124 draws this season. In net, Makenzie Fisher (10.25 GAA, 42 saves) and Allie Bell (11.98 GAA, 46 saves) have split time for a unit that averages 11.08 goals against per game.

Saturday marks the 31st meeting between the Hoyas and the Wildcats in a series that dates back to 1977. Georgetown holds a commanding 24-6 lead in the all-time series and has won the last four meetings. The Blue & Gray secured a 13-9 victory in the most recent matchup on April 2, 2025, behind four goals from
Sophia Loschert, and will be looking for their first road win at Villanova Stadium since 2024 to keep their perfect BIG EAST record intact.
