WASHINGTON - Senior tight end Daniel Sprotte (Garden City, N.Y./Chaminade) was named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) National Tight End of the Week, after turning in a career day in the Georgetown University football team's (1-8, 0-3 Patriot League) loss to Lafayette over the weekend. Sprotte was also named a Patriot League weekly honorable mention.

Sprotte celebrated his final game at Multi-Sport Field with a career-high 11 catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns to earn CFPA and Patriot League honors. Sprotte has had an impressive senior campaign, leading all Patriot League tight ends in receptions per game (4.6). Sprotte is second on the team with 409 receiving yards and four touchdowns. This is the first time Sprotte has earned CFPA and Patriot League honors.

Junior defensive end Alec May (Wrenthem, Mass./King Phillip) earned CFPA National Defensive Lineman Honorable Mention, in addition to being named to the Patriot League weekly honorable mention. May registered a career-high 12 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 3.0 tackles for loss of 16 yards to lead the Hoyas defense. May's 3.0 sacks is 11th in the Patriot League, while his 7.5 tackles for loss is tied with teammate Richard Shankle for seventh in the league.

Georgetown has a bye week before concluding its 2013 schedule with consecutive Patriot League road trips, first to Bucknell on November 16, before its season finale at Holy Cross on Saturday, November 23.
