Georgetown Football Travels to Brown

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team will hit the road for a two week Ivy League road swing. The Hoyas will head to Providence, Rhode Island to take on Brown on Saturday, September 13. Kickoff is slated for noon at Brown Stadium.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Last Saturday, Georgetown fell 42-37 to Patriot League foe Lafayette on Cooper Field. 
  • Quarterback Danny Lauter completed 27-45 passes for 319 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Savion Hart recorded 140 all-purpose yards, including two rushing touchdowns.
  • Naiteitei Mose returned a fumble recovery 90 yards for a touchdown.
  • On defense, GianCarlo Rufo leads GU with 27 tackles (11 solo, 16 assists), while Cooper Blomstrom leads with two sacks for a loss of 15 yards. 
  • Quincy Briggs is tied for first in the nation with three interceptions.  
ABOUT THE BEARS
  • Brown will open up its 2025 season at home against the Hoyas. 
  • The Bears will be led by a pair of captains in 2025 in senior linebacker John Perdue and junior quarterback James Murphy.
  • After serving as the backup quarterback during the last two seasons, Murphy enters 2025 as the starter for the Bears. During his collegiate career, Murphy has completed 36-53 passes for 377 yards and two touchdowns.
  • 2024 Ivy League Rookie of the Year Matt Childs returns as the team's lead back after his breakout freshman season where he led all Ivy rookies with 40.11 rushing yards and 42.67 receiving yards per game.
  • The Bears are led by Head Coach James Perry who is entering his seventh season at the helm of the program.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Georgetown and Brown are meeting for the eighth time in program history.
  • The Hoyas are 1-6 overall against the Bears.
