WASHINGTON - Sophomore attacker Caroline Tarzian (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll Monday after her standout performance as the Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad went 1-1 this past week. It marked Tarzian's third-career nod to the honor roll and second this season. It was the fourth honor roll award for the Blue & Gray so far this year.
Tarzian had a huge week for the Hoyas with 10 point on seven goals and three assists. In the 15-8 victory at Stanford University, she had five goals in seven shots to lead the squad as well as picking up a ground ball. On Saturday, Tarzian added to her impressive week with a team-best two goals and three assists as well as going 1-for-1 on free position shots.
The attacker is currently leading the team in scoring with 20 points on 12 goals and eight assists. She is shooting 88.9 percent with 12 goals on 16 shots on goal and is 1-for-1 on free position shots.
She ranks seventh in the conference in goals (2.40 gpg), fifth in assists (1.60 apg) and fourth in points (4.00 ppg).
No. 11/8 Georgetown is currently 4-1 on the season with wins over the University of Delaware, Towson University, Princeton University and Stanford. GU suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday in a heartbreaker to Duke University.
The Hoyas will be back in action on Wednesday as the team travels to Baltimore, Md., to take on the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., and will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
