GU was fast out of the gate, making Hawks goalie Amada Deibler make a save less than a minute into the game when Aliyah Graves-Brown (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg Academy) had a shot on goal 44 seconds into the game. Following a Saint Joseph's foul, Molly Denzel (Sunnyvale, Calif./St. Francis) inserted a penalty corner for GU, after an initial shot by Devin Holmes (Fleetville, Pa./Wyoming Seminary), Sarah Butterfield (Bridgewater, N.J./Oak Knoll) was able to shoot the ball past Deibler for the goal off the rebound at 1:39. The goal was the fourth of the season for the junior forward.
The team found itself trading possessions with Saint Joseph's in a fast paced first half. The Hoyas saw themselves inserting three penalty corners within two minutes, but they were unable to make the connection with the back of the goalie cage.
The Hawks answered the Blue & Gray with a goal of their own at 11:39 when Kerri Turk penetrated the defense and shot the ball past Rachel Skonecki (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Red Land) from the left side at 12:38.

Georgetown was aggressive to start the second half with Butterfield and Holmes both forcing Deibler to make saves two minutes into half. Saint Joseph's was able to capitalize on turnovers however and inserted two penalty corners within 30 seconds of each other, the second of which provided the second goal for the Hawks. Katja Hansen was able to sneak the ball past Skonecki off a rebound at 40:52 to make the score 2-1.
Jordan Martin of Saint Joseph's scored the third goal, from the right side of the circle, at 47:58. Georgetown was unable to create many offensive opportunities thereafter and spent the remaining minutes of the game on defense. The Hawks scored the last goal of the game at 67:22 to make the final 4-1.
Skonecki had five saves, to bring her season total to 57.
Up next for the Blue & Gray is a BIG EAST matchup against conference foe Villanova in Pennsylvania on Friday, Oct. 17. The game is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
