Oct. 20, 2014 WASHINGTON - Emily Weinberg (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday after scoring two goals for the Hoyas over the weekend. The team went 1-1, dropping a 2-1 overtime decision against Villanova on Friday and defeating Colgate 3-0 on Sunday.
The midfielder scored two of the team's three goals en route to a 3-0 shutout over Colgate on Multi Sport Field on Sunday afternoon. The two goals are the most scored by one player in a single game during the 2014 season. Weinberg also led the team with five shots in the 2-1 overtime loss at Villanova on Friday night.
Weinberg is the second Hoya to be named to the Honor Roll after sophomore forward Aliyah Graves-Brown (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg Academy) was named the week of Sept.1, after scoring two goals and recording two assists over GU's opening weekend against Appalachian State and Davidson.
The junior is tied for the team lead in goals with five with Graves-Brown; she also has three assists for a team high13 points.
Georgetown takes the field this Friday at 1 p.m. when it welcomes No. 16 Temple to Multi Sport Field in a BIG EAST matchup.
