WASHINGTON - The Georgetown women's golf team concluded its spring break trip this past weekend, competing in the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational, being held in Orange Park, Florida, near Jacksonville.
Head Coach Katie Brophy and her team departed for Florida on Monday. Throughout the trip, members of the team will be providing updates for guhoyas.com. Today's is from senior Stefanie Soelling (Everett, Wash./Everett).
"Today was the last round of the JMU Invitational at Eagle Landing. The course played difficult today with 20 mph winds and gusts up to 35 mph. The girls battled through the winds as Patricia Lee came in with a 78 and Mackenzie Boydston followed with a 77. The team showed perseverance and, while we may not have finished how we would have liked, we look forward to the Hoya Invitational and practice so that we can improve.
After the tournament our host family provided us with an amazing lunch spread so we would be reenergized for the travel day ahead of us. We hit a bit of a travel hiccup with a delay at the airport but we managed to get out and return to a snowy DC. As my last Georgetown spring break it was amazing to spend it with my teammates! We had a great time having fun in Jacksonville and playing some great golf courses. It is sad that it's my last one but I will remember it forever! Hoya Saxa!"
