WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown field hockey team (5-7, 0-2 BIG EAST) was defeated by the No. 15 Old Dominion Monarchs (7-3, 1-0 BIG EAST) on Friday night at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
Goalkeeper Rachel Skonecki (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Red Land) posted a season-best 19 saves in the loss, the most registered against the Monarchs this season.
The Monarchs jumped to a 3-0 halftime lead and scored three more in the second half en route to the win.
Teisha King and Danielle Grega scored two goals apiece to lead Old Dominion in scoring.
Georgetown will conclude the weekend's action on Sunday, Oct. 11 when the Hoyas play Longwood at 1 p.m.
