Baseball Games with George Washington, Fairfield Postponed

Feb. 18, 2015

WASHINGTON - Wednesday's Georgetown baseball game at George Washington has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions following this week's winter storm. Additionally, the Hoyas weekend home series against Fairfield has been cancelled.

The matchup with George Washington will be made up on Wednesday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m. at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Virginia. The three games with Fairfield will not be made up.

The Hoyas will next be in action February 27 - March 1 in a three-game series at Davidson. Friday's first pitch will be at 6 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday's start times are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.

Georgetown went 1-2 in their season-opening weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational. After losses to VCU and Delaware, GU used a seven-run fourth inning to defeat Bucknell, 8-5. Junior right-handed pitcher Matt Smith (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) and senior first baseman AC Carter (Winter Park, Fla./Orangewood Christian) were both named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
