March 16, 2015 WASHINGTON - Senior pitcher Megan Hyson (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. This is the second time this season that Hyson has been honored by the conference; Hyson earned Pitcher of the Week honors on Feb. 16.
Hyson went 2-0 over the weekend that saw the Hoyas go 2-2 at the Cherry Blossom Classic hosted by George Mason. In her 14.0 innings of work in the circle Hyson had 14 strikeouts and posted an ERA of 1.00. Over the four games, the senior hit .358 and scored two runs to accompany her five hits and seven RBI.
Through 22 games, Hyson is batting .290 with 19 hits, 20 runs scored and 12 RBI. As a pitcher, she has a record of 8-4 with an ERA of 1.71 and 92 strikeouts.
Georgetown hosts its first home games on Tuesday when it takes on Princeton in an afternoon doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m., at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy.
