Graves-Brown Named All-BIG EAST

Nov. 3, 2016

WASHINGTON - Georgetown field hockey senior Aliyah Graves-Brown (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg Academy) was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team on Thursday, becoming the first Hoya to earn three All-BIG EAST selections. A year ago, she was the first Hoya in program history to earn All-BIG EAST First Team honors after earning second team honors in 2014.

Georgetown has had at least one All-BIG EAST selection in six of the last eight seasons. The last Hoya to earn multiple all-conference selections was Annie Wilson '12 who was a two-time All-BIG EAST Second Team selection in 2011 and 2012.

This season, Graves-Brown finished third on the team in points (10) and second in assists (4). She finished her career ranked 23rd in school history in points (39), 23rd in goals (14) and 13th in assists (11). She is also second in games played (73), just two off the school record held by Wilson.

Off the field, Graves-Brown was the recipient of the 2015-16 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Excellence award for field hockey and is a three-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad selection.

Graves-Brown was a part of a six-member senior class that posted 21 career wins, the most by a field hockey senior class since 2005.
