The Georgetown University men's tennis team won its second match of the season with a 4-3 win over Monmouth on Friday afternoon.
The Hoyas opened the match winning the doubles point as Michael Chen (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel High School) and Jordan Portner (Ellicott, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) claimed the No. 1 spot, 6-1, over Monmouth's Przemyslaw Filipek and Ale Gomez. Peter Beatty (Portland, Ore./Middlesex School) and Yannik Mahlangu (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley High School) secured the doubles point with a win at the No.2 spot.
In singles play, the Blue & Gray were led by Beatty who defeated Gomez 6-4,6-3 in the No. 3 spot.
The GU men will travel to Chicago, Ill. to take on BIG EAST opponent DePaul on Feb. 20 at 3 p.m.
