Georgetown Tennis to Face Princeton

WASHINGTON -

The Georgetown University men's tennis team (1-3) takes on the No. 34 Princeton Tigers, Sat. Feb. 6, at Jadwin Gym. The match is set for 3 p.m. and will be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network.

GU is coming off a road win against Navy, 4-3, and its first BIG EAST Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor.

Freshman Michael Chen (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel High School) won the award on Feb. 3 for his play against Navy. Chen and Jordan Portner (Ellicott, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) secured the doubles point for the Hoyas at the No. 1 flight, besting Navy's Krishna Jana and Tucker Massie 6-4. Building off his doubles momentum, the freshman defeated Andrey Majkic 6-4, 6-3 in singles action.

Princeton also comes into the weekend after defeating the No.64 Iowa Hawkeyes 6-1 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. Overall the Tigers are 1-2 on the season.
