April 12, 2016 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University baseball team's game at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader when UMES visits Georgetown at Shirley Povich Field on Tuesday, April 26.
Originally scheduled to play a single game at 7 p.m. on April 26, the Hoyas and Hawks will now play a seven-inning game beginning at 4 p.m. with a nine-inning contest starting shortly after the conclusion of the first game.
GU's game on Tuesday against George Mason is still on as scheduled. First pitch at Shirley Povich Field is set for 3 p.m. with Nick Leonard (Washington, D.C./Maret) taking the mound for the Hoyas.
This weekend, Georgetown will get back into conference play, hosting Xavier University for a BIG EAST series. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 4 p.m., while Saturday's contest will begin at 3 p.m. and Sunday's series finale is set for 1 p.m. A web stream and live stats for all three games will be available at www.guhoyas.com.
