WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University track & field team put up six personal records (PRs) at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, held on the Beynon Track at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables, Fla. The Hoyas put up a number of strong performances, including wins in the women's 1,500-meter run and a sweep of the men's and women's 800-meter runs.

Men's Highlights (Individual Results)
The Hoya men were led by All-American Ahmed Bile (Annandale, Va./Annandale), who ran a PR 1:48.48 to win the 800-meter run. He was followed up by Charlie Cooper (Montreal, Canada/Lower Canada College) running 1:50.15, a PR of more than 1.5 seconds. With the field running in a line on the bell lap, Bile started to move on the outside during the final turn, coming up the final straightaway on the outside and outkicking the field for the win.

All-American Joe White (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) ran 48.42 as the top Hoya finisher in the 400-meter dash, finishing seventh overall and fourth in the first heat. White's range was displayed as just one week ago he ran a PR in the 1,500-meter run (3:47.37). Also competing in the 400-meter dash was Daniel Anderson (Ozark, Mo./Ozark), who finished 16th overall (4th in H3) with a season best 49.28. It is the first time this track & field season (indoor and outdoor) that Anderson has broken 50 seconds.

Anderson, White, Zach Zingsheim (East Lansing, Mich./Lansing Catholic) and Cooper finished fifth in the first heat and sixth overall in the 4x400-meter relay as the quartet clocked 3:19.25.

Women's Highlights (Individual Results)
In the 1,500-meter run, All-American Sabrina Southerland (New York, N.Y./Benjamin N. Cardozo) ran a PR 4:21.51 to win the event and lead a trio of Hoyas in the top three spots as Kennedy Weisner (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) finished second (4:22.14, PR) and All-American Heather Martin (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) finished third (4:24.08). The trio pulled away from the field early with Martin taking the lead for the majority of the race. As they all started to kick, it was Southerland who had the most speed over the final straightaway for the win.

Another dominating performance from the Hoyas was the 800-meter run where All-American Piper Donaghu (Portland, Ore./Grant) won the event, outkicking teammate Weisner for the win as Donaghu clocked 2:08.64. Weisner, totaling three events on the day, put up her second PR of the meet as she timed in at 2:09.40 for second place.

Jody-Ann Knight (Bentonville, Ark./Bentonville) continues her strong start to the outdoor season as she has back-to-back weekends with PRs, this week running 25.09 in the 200-meter dash to win her heat. Knight ran a PR 59.14 last weekend in the 400-meter dash, the first time the sophomore has broken one minute in the event as a Hoya.

The Hoyas put two squads in the finals of the 4x400-meter relay, taking fourth and sixth place. All-American Andrea Keklak (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury/Princeton), Southerland, Sarah Schmidt (Viersen, Germany) and Martin clocked 3:41.01 to finish fourth overall. It was the first collegiate race for Schmidt.

The quartet of Mirable Nkenke (Orange, N.J./Immaculate Conception), Donaghu, Knight and Weisner won heat two with a time of 3:48.82, finishing sixth overall. The win was aided by an exciting 55.9 split from Knight on the third leg.

The Next Time
The Hoyas return to the track on April 22-23 as they split sites between the Stanford Twilight Meet (Palo Alto, Calif.) on Friday, April 22 and the UVA Challenge (Charlottesville, Va.), a two-day meet at the University of Virginia.
