May 3, 2016 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's lacrosse freshman attacker Taylor Gebhardt (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday when the league office announced its final weekly awards of the season.
Gebhardt was the shining light in the Hoyas' season-finale setback at Temple, matching last week's BIG EAST single-game high for points with four off two goals and two assists. Gebhardt had a hand in every goal for the Blue & Gray and added a ground ball as well.
This is Gebhardt's third weekly honor of the season after being named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on March 23, and to the honor roll on April 5. It mark's GU's sixth nod to the honor roll this season.
Despite the loss on Saturday, the Hoyas earned the fourth seed in the championship due to the conference's tiebreaking procedure as Temple, Georgetown and Marquette all ended the season with a mark of 4-3 in BIG EAST play.
The BIG EAST Championship semifinal games are scheduled for Thursday, May 5 at Cooper Field. The fourth-seeded Hoyas will battle the top-seeded Gators from the University of Florida at 4:30 p.m., while the second-seeded University of Connecticut Huskies will face the third-seeded Owls at 7 p.m. Both games can be seen live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) and live stats will be available at www.BIGEAST.com.
The championship is scheduled for Saturday, May 7 at Cooper Field at 2 p.m. It can be seen live on FOX Sports 2.
Tickets for Thursday are $10 (includes both games), and tickets for Saturday are $5. All students with a valid BIG EAST student ID get in free.
