Sept. 15, 2016 WASHINGTON - Head Coach Pat Conlan and the Georgetown University softball team released its 2016 fall schedule on Monday. The Hoyas will play four doubleheaders on the road against four different opponents.
GU will open its fall slate on Saturday, September 17 with a pair of games at Towson. First pitch is scheduled for noon. Last season, the Hoyas dropped three games to the Tigers, including two at the season-opening Charleston Southern Tournament in February, and one at Guy Mason Field in April.
The Blue & Gray will next play a doubleheader at George Washington on Saturday, October 8. A time has not yet been announced. The two teams met just one time last season, with the Colonials winning a back-and-forth affair, 13-11, at Guy Mason Field.
The Hoyas will make the short trip to George Mason on Friday, October 14 for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. The two sides last met in March, with the Patriots coming away with a 6-2 victory in Farifax, Va.
Two days later, Georgetown will wrap up its fall schedule with a doubleheader at Maryland. First pitch on Sunday, October 16 is set for 1 p.m. The Hoyas came away with a 5-4 victory over the Terrapins last year in March at the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy as part of the District Invite.
GU concluded the 2016 season with an overall record of 9-35 and 3-14 in BIG EAST play.
