Sept. 20, 2016 WASHINGTON - Earlier this month, the coaches and players of the Georgetown University softball team took part in a pair of weekend clinics for area youth leagues. Overall, the Hoyas worked with more than 250 young softball players.
"I believe we have a responsibility to give back to the game of softball," Georgetown Head Coach Pat Conlan said. "The community clinics are our way of saying thank you for all that softball has given us. The team and coaches are beyond blessed to have the opportunity to compete at Georgetown and we work hard to be great role models to the next generation of softball players."
On Friday, September 10, the Hoyas led two all-skills sessions at McLean Little League where they worked on hitting, bunting, fielding, throwing and base running.
Two days later, on Sunday, September 12, the Blue & Gray was at the Arlington Girls Softball Association for two more sessions where the Hoyas again worked on the same skills with softball's next generation.
