Baseball Adds 12 Newcomers to 2017 Roster

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Baseball Head Coach Pete Wilk has announced the addition of 11 newcomers to the Hoya roster for the upcoming 2017 season. Included in the 11 student-athletes are nine members of the Georgetown Class of 2020 as well as two graduate student transfers.

"I am very excited to welcome these 11 young men to our roster and to the Georgetown community," Wilk said. "We are extremely excited to see the impact they can bring to this team as several of them will compete for playing time right away."

Was a three-year starter at Northern Highlands Regional High School, serving as a team captain his senior year ... As a senior, was named First Team All-Big North Freedom and Third Team All-Bergen County, helping lead Northern Highlands Regional to a New Jersey Group 3 Sectional Championship ... Went 6-3 with one save, 77 strikeouts and a 1.52 ERA in 60 innings pitched as a senior ... Was the quarterback and the captain of the football team, earning all-league and all-county honors while breaking the single-season school records for passing yards, passing touchdowns, total touchdowns, completions and completion percentage ... In the classroom, was a three-year honor roll student ... Twin brother, Hunter, is a member of the Tulane University baseball team.

Was also a three-year letterwinner in football, helping Lovett win a state championship in 2013 ... Off the playing field, was an honor roll student, a member of school vestry, the student service board, an elite acolyte at church and an eagle scout.

Was also a member of the football team, serving as a team captain and helping lead the squad to a league championship ... Off the field, was a three-time NCS and California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) scholar-athlete and earned an academic letter all eight semesters ... Brother, Daniel, was a member of the track & field team at the University of California-Berkeley.

In the classroom, was a six-time recipient of the Eagle Award at St. Thomas Academy for having a 3.67 GPA or higher.
