Sept. 28, 2016 WASHINGTON - The game time for Sunday's nonconference contest between the Georgetown field hockey team and Longwood at Cooper Field has been moved to 2 p.m., Head Coach Shannon Soares announced Wednesday. The Hoyas and Lancers will meet for the 14th time overall and third in as many seasons.
Georgetown (3-7) leads the overall series with Longwood, 7-6, and has won two-straight. The Hoyas have also won six of their last nine at Cooper Field.
Georgetown snapped a seven-game losing streak last Sunday with a 3-2 nonconference victory over Lehigh at Cooper Field. Freshman Michaela Bruno (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) scored the game-winning goal with just 3:45 remaining in the game. She now leads the team in goals (3) and points (8). The last time a freshman led the team in scoring was in 2005 when Maggie Farrand led the team in goals (6), assists (5) and points (17).
The Hoyas travel to Temple on Friday.
