WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball sophomore guard Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after helping the Hoyas (13-7, 5-5 BIG EAST) to a win over Villanova in conference play.

White led the way with 21 points, going 9-of-9 from the line, in a 54-49 victory over Villanova University on Saturday at McDonough Arena. She also added four rebounds, two assists, three steals and a block as the Hoyas avenged a loss earlier in the season.

The sophomore leads the team in scoring with 16.2 ppg which ranks her second in the conference. She also has 5.1 rpg and is ranked second on the squad in assists with 55 on the season. White has 69 steals on the year to lead the BIG EAST and rank ninth in the nation. Her 3.7 steals per game leads the league and is seventh in the country. The sophomore is also shooting .841 (53-of-63) from the line to sit at third in the league

This is White's fourth-career nod to the honor roll, and her second this season after garnering the honor last week. In her career, she has earned seven total weekly honors. The guard was a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection this season, and Second Team All-BIG EAST a season ago. It is Georgetown's fifth weekly recognition and fourth nod to the honor roll this year.

The Hoyas will be back in action next weekend as the squad hosts Providence College on Friday at noon, and Creighton University on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network and live stats will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
