WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) was named the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Bucaro scored six goals in an 11-10 setback to then-No. 13/12 Towson in GU's home opener on Saturday.

The six goals against the Tigers set a career high for Bucaro, the 2016 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year. His previous best was three, reached on a trio of occasions as a rookie last year. Bucaro has now recorded a point in 10-straight games and in every game he's played in his career except one.

The award marks the third time Bucaro has garnered BIG EAST weekly honors. He was named to the weekly honor roll twice last season.
