WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's tennis team (1-2) fell to the Boston College Eagles by a score of 6-1 on Saturday in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

The Blue & Gray dropped a tightly contested doubles point to start the match.

The teams split decisions at No. 1 and No. 2 with senior Jordan Portner (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) and junior Mac Rechan (Clayton, Mo./Clayton) winning 6-4 at No.1, and junior Peter Beatty (Portland, Ore./Middlesex School) and senior Yannik Mahlangu (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley High School) falling, 6-2. at No.2.

Sophomore Michael Chen (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel High School) and freshman Ian Witmer (North Palm Beach, Fla./The Benjamin School) lost a tight match, 7-6, at No.3.

The Eagles ran away in singles play registering wins in five of six matches. Chen won a competitive three-set match at No. 4 7-6, 4-6, 10-7.

The Hoyas return to action on Wednesday, February 8 when they host Morgan State at Arlington YMCA. The match is scheduled to big at noon.
