March 26, 2017 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's rowing team launched their spring season with a day of racing on Lake Carnegie, hosted by Princeton University on Saturday. The heavyweight men had their annual scrimmage with the Tigers to open the season while the lightweight squad raced both Delaware and Princeton on the day.
Heavyweights
Georgetown opened the day with a trio of heavyweight scrimmage races against the host Tigers.

Lightweights
The lightweight squad took to the water twice on Saturday, rowing against Delaware in the early afternoon before turning right around to race host Princeton later that evening. The conditions on Lake Carnegie were near perfect with calm waters and a partly cloudy skies for excellent racing weather.

Although the Hoyas had one race under their belts for the day, so did their evening foe Princeton as the Tigers raced against Navy earlier in the day. Princeton retained the Fosburgh Cup with their victory in the varsity 8 race.
Conditions for the evening heats deteriorated a bit from the morning as the crosshead winds began to gust during the final 500 meters.
