WASHINGTON - Georgetown University baseball junior outfielder Michael DeRenzi (Mendham, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. The award recognizes DeRenzi's efforts in GU's four games last week.

DeRenzi batted .500 (9-for-18) with a .526 on-base percentage and a .556 slugging percentage, while adding four RBI and three runs scored. He started the week with a four-hit, four-RBI effort in a 14-4 win over Coppin State in the home opener at Shirley Povich Field. In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader at Brown, DeRenzi had two hits, including a double, before reaching base four times with three hits and a walk in the nightcap. He also stole a base and scored three runs.

This is the fourth career honor roll selection for DeRenzi, and his second this season. He was also named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on March 6. Overall, the Hoyas have earned five selections to the weekly honor roll in 2017.

Georgetown will return home to Shirley Povich Field for a midweek matchup against Navy on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Nick Leonard (Washington, D.C./Maret) will take the mound for the Blue & Gray. Live stats and a video stream will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
