April 21, 2017 WASHINGTON - Following a weekend off from competition, the Georgetown track & field team returned to the track with a vengeance, tallying a pair of personal records (PRs) to open the Virginia Challenge, hosted by the University of Virginia, while also notching a quintet of times among the top 20.
Jody-Ann Knight (Bentonville, Ark./Bentonville) continued her impressive season, running a PR 56.53 to finish 19th among all sections of the women's 400-meter dash and to win her heat. Knight took nearly two seconds off her outdoor best (58.44) and more than one second off her PR in the distance (58.19).
Freshman Eion Nohilly (Goldens Bridge, N.Y./John Jay) demolished his previous steeplechase PR as he ran 9:01.66 in the fastest section to finish eighth overall. His time was nearly eight seconds faster than his collegiate opener (9:09.54) at the Stanford Invitational at the end of March.
Autumn Eastman (Hinesburg, Vt./Champlain Valley Union) managed a 10:33.74 in her first collegiate steeplechase to finish 11th overall, good enough for fifth in her section.
The Hoyas return to competition on Saturday with the conclusion of the Virginia Challenge.
