Women's Rowing Finishes Sixth at IRA National Championship

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's lightweight women's rowing 8+ crew finished in sixth place at the IRA National Championship Regatta on Lake Natoma in California on Sunday. Posting a time of 6:42.203 in the Grand Final, the Hoyas finished behind Stanford, Boston University, Princeton, Wisconsin and Harvard Radcliffe.

The Blue & Gray earned a spot in the Grand Final following a second place finish in the repechage on Saturday. Georgetown opened competition with a fourth place showing in the first 8+ heat, trailing eventual championship opponents Stanford, Princeton and Wisconsin.

Regrouping for their second race of the day, the Hoyas cut 17 seconds off their time from morning heat to finish second in the repechage with a time of 6:38.378 to earn a spot in the Grand Final.
