WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University field hockey squad (5-3, 0-1 BIG EAST) will travel to Virginia this weekend to face Old Dominion University on Friday evening at 5 p.m. in both teams' second conference game of the season. The Hoyas will then play on Sunday at Longwood University at 1 p.m. Both games will be available to watch via livestream and through live stats on www.GUHoyas.com.

Georgetown is going into the weekend 1-1 after losing to Quinnipiac last Friday in the BIG EAST opener, 2-1, and beating Towson on Sunday, 5-1. Freshman Cami Osborne (Newtown Square, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame de Namur), currently leading the Hoyas with six goals, scored two goals for GU in the match against Towson, while Lindsay Getz (Northfield, Ill./Loyola Academy), ranking second in goals on the team (4), scored one goal in each game over the weekend.

Old Dominion (3-4, 0-1 BIG EAST) is looking for its first conference win this season as well. The Monarchs won against Richmond, 4-2, last weekend but lost their first conference game on Sunday against No. 1 UConn, 6-0. The Monarchs are currently lead by sophomore Erin Huffman with six goals this season.

Friday marks the fifth time in playing history that the two BIG EAST teams will meet. The last meeting was during the 2016 campaign when the Hoyas lost 4-0.

The Longwood Lancers (6-1) are on a two-game winning streak, with wins against Davidson and LIU Brooklyn. Longwood has lost only one game this season to Liberty, 3-2. Junior Leonie Verstraete currently leads the Lancers with four goals and three assists.

The last time that the Blue & Gray saw Longwood was in 2016, when GU won 4-2.

The Hoyas will return home next weekend at 2 p.m., when they face off against Temple University.
