WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad (1-0) will make the short trip to Towson University (1-0) on Saturday for a 3 p.m. matchup against the No. 19/11 Tigers at Johnny Unitas Stadium. This marks GU's first test away from home this season as well as the first contest in a two-game road trip.

Junior midfielder Francesca Whitehurst (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park Country School) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday when the league announced its weekly awards. Whitehurst led the Hoyas to an 18-15 win over visiting Saint Joseph's on Saturday with a hat trick, nine draw controls and a ground ball.

In the win on Saturday, junior Taylor Gebhardt (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) led the way with four goals, while sophomore Michaela Bruno (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) added three goals as well as five draw controls. Sophomore Emily Ehle (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) had a goal and a squad-high four assists and junior midfielder Francesca Whitehurst (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park Country School) managed three goals along with a team-best nine draw controls.

The Hoyas outshot the Hawks, 32-20, and pulled in 21 draw controls to SJU's 15. The Blue & Gray forced 20 Saint Joe's turnovers, but committed 18 in the contest. GU was 5-of-9 on free position shots and combined for nine saves in the cage. Sophomore Haelle Chomo (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) picked up her first career victory.

Junior Natalie Sulmonte totaled six points with three goals and three assists and a defensive stop by sophomore Sami Chenoweth in the final seconds preserved a 14-13 victory over No. 4 Penn State last Saturday at Unitas Stadium. Towson posted its first win in nine all-time meetings against the Nittany Lions and posted the program's first win over a top five team. Sulmonte was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday following her six goals and adding four draw controls, a ground ball and a caused turnover.

Georgetown is 10-11 all-time against the Tigers and 3-4 on the road. Last year, Georgetown fell to Towson, 13-8, at home. Georgia Tunney and Hannah Seibel (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) led the way with two goals apiece as six different Hoyas scored. The last meeting at Unitas Stadium was an 8-7 loss in 2016.
