WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad (1-1) will travel to Drexel University (1-1) on Saturday for a noon matchup against the Dragons at Vidas Field. This marks GU's second test away from home this season as well as the second contest in a two-game road trip.

Georgetown fell to then-No. 19/11 Towson University (2-0), 21-13, on Sunday afternoon in a makeup game from the previous day at Johnny Unitas Stadium. The game was called due to weather with 14 minutes remaining on Saturday so the squads started the game back at 0-0 on Sunday.

Junior Taylor Gebhardt (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) led the way with four goals, while sophomore Michaela Bruno (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) added three goals and an assist. Sophomore Emily Ehle (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) had a goal and a squad-high three assists. Senior Hannah Seibel (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) posted two goals and one assist. Junior midfielder Francesca Whitehurst (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park Country School) had a team-best eight draw controls, and freshman defender Mollie Miller (Alexandria, Va./Saint Stephens & Saint Agnes) managed a pair of caused turnovers.

The Hoyas were outshot, 34-28, and pulled in 15 draw controls to Towson's 19. The Blue & Gray forced 13 Tiger turnovers, but committed 16 in the contest. GU was 3-of-6 on free position shots and combined for seven saves in the cage.

Ehle leads the team in scoring with two goals and a squad-high seven assists on the season. She is followed by Gebhardt and Bruno who have eight points apiece. Gebhardt is leading with eight goals, while Bruno has managed six goals and two assists.

Whitehurst has 17 draw controls on the year, and three different defenders boast two caused turnovers each. In goal, junior Haelle Chomo (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) has played a majority of the minutes with 11 saves for the season.

Drexel used a four-goal second-half run Sunday afternoon to pull away from the Iona Gaels and win, 14-9, in the Dragons' home opener. Colleen Grady led the Dragons with four goals, while Lucy and Jamie Schneidereith each scored twice. The latter Schneidereith also had three assists in the game. Pamela Giordano scored five times for Iona. Drexel's other result was a 14-10 loss at Johns Hopkins to begin the year.

The Hoyas are 4-6 all-time against the Dragons and 2-3 on the road. The last meeting was a 16-7 GU victory during the 1996 campaign.
